Gary Ella
Gary Ella, born 23 July 1960 in La Perouse , a suburb of Sydney , is a former player of rugby Australia, of Aboriginal descent, who played as a centre.
He is one of the three Ella brothers to wear the colors of the Wallabies during the 80s. A brother Mark was a great player of the 1980s. Twin brother Mark, Glen, had six selections, and he pursued a career as a coach. As to Gary, on the August 14, 1982, he gets the honour to glean his first cap for the Wallabies against the All Blacks. He will play only large nations: three games against the All Blacks and 2 against the France and a match against England. After playing four international matches in 1982 and 1983, he disappears from the top level to play two more times in 1988 after 31 games without being selected. He donned the Australian colors July 3, 1988 against the All Blacks for the last time . Gary Ella is now coach of Parramatta Two Blues. |
